Neath take the points against Carmarthen town
NEATH were given an unexpectedly stern test by lowly Carmarthen Town before running-out 1-0 winners at The Gnoll.
The Eagles move into third place in the Welsh Premier table while the Old Gold remain joint-bottom, but there was little to choose between the sides until midway through the second half.
Luke Bowen rattled the post with a 66th-minute effort and, two minutes later, the Eagles finally managed to break the deadlock when Lee Trundle set-up Paul Fowler to score against his former club.
The result was still a major improvement for Tomi Morgan's men who had shipped nine goals in their two previous games. Neath move up to third behind Bala and The New Saints, and despite taking the three points Terry Boyle is sure to be frustrated by Neath not taking more of their opportunities to score.
Next up for the Eagles, Newtown away at Latham Park on Saturday, a crucial game for the Eagles as they look to improve on their away form and maintain their challenge for the title.
