Bala Town 0 - 0 Neath

Bala Town 0 – 0 Neath

Sunday 27th Nov 2011

After last weeks goal bonanza at home to Newtown, O'Learys men failed to hit the jackpot and had to settle for a point at Maes Tegid.

The game that was over shadowed by the tragic death of Wales manager Gary Speed, which was announced before kick off, with a minutes silence observed.

Caretaker boss O'Leary will feel that his side should have made it six points from two matches in charge after dominating the first half.

The lakesiders almost scored inside the first five minutes when Eagles keeper Chris Doran spilled Stephen Brown's shot, but recovered before anyone could profit.

Neath went close shortly afterwards when Lee Trundle played in Craig Hughes, whose smashed his shot against the crossbar.

Bala's bar was rattled a second time after 20mins from a Chris Jones free-kick.

The home side looked more lively in the second half but were unable to find a way through the Neath defebce despite their efforts.

Second half substitute Steff Edwards and Stephen Brown hit the post and bar while Brown was unable to capiyalise on a couple of other chances.

O'Leary introduced Luke Bowen into the neath side early in the second half following a long absence through injury but will probably need more game time to return to his peak

Neath will be frustrated they didnt capitalise on their early domination and take the 3 points but they remain in contention, placing fourth and just six points adrift of joint leaders Llanelli and TNS.
